Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor made her Bollywood debut this year with the film Dhadak opposite Ishaan Khatter. The film was the official adaptation of hit Marathi film Sairat. Janhvi was launched under Karan Johar’s banner and the actress will now have a shining career.
While Ishaan has already signed a brand endorsement with a soft drink, now Janhvi too has signed her first brand. She will now be the face of popular cosmetic brand Nykaa.
Talking about why she chose the brand Nykaa, she said, “I am honoured and excited to be associated with the brand because it is about make-up. Even the journey of the brand is very inspiring and they talk about real girls rather than picture perfect role models.”
Janhvi announced her association with brand on her Instagram handle. She wrote, “Thrilled and honoured to be part of the @MyNykaa family! Can’t wait to share with you guys all the exciting projects we have lined up! Go check out my faves on Nykaa.com”
A leading daily quoted its source, “Janhvi has been approached by many brands. But choosing a simple brand used by the girl-next-door is a sign of things to come and the kind of films that she will be doing. No doubt she is doing a magnum opus like Takht and will be seen as a princess there, but it sends signals that she is open to play all kinds of characters.”

In a recent interview, when Janhvi was asked about whether she always aspired to be an actor since childhood, she said, “As a child, I didn’t think of being an actor, even my mom didn’t want me to. However, I think in my head I already thought that I was an actor. In my school days, people would think that I was schizophrenic, because I would make up these wack stories. I remember, calling up my friend and saying that I am a secret agent and that I need to spy on someone in school. They would believe me. Once I told my friends that Shakira has flown down to Mumbai to personally teach me belly dancing, so now, I can teach all of you. My friends’ parents called up mom and asked, ‘You got Shakira down? How is she? That’s so cool, could you send Janhvi home so she can teach my daughter’. My mom would be amused by all my stories. I was like this comedy character at home.”
