In Bollywood, the choices matter a lot. Every actor has given a choice of whether to do or not to do a film. When an actor turns down a film and the film does great in terms of Box office collection and also in terms of inspiring people, the actor regrets turning down that film. When we talk about movies that inspire people, the first name pops in our heads in Akshay Kumar. Akshay Kumar is very selective about his movies. He does the script which he thinks will send a positive message in the society or on a great historical event like PADMAN and KESARI. Akshay Kumar is one of the very few actors who has given consecutive hits in the industry. He is the one every filmmaker dreams to work with.
When an actor is on the peek of his career, he has a lot of choices to make. He has a lot of offers from the biggest filmmakers in the industry and sometimes they make the wrong choices. It is human nature to do so. But it has a lot of weight and no matter what the actor has to carry it forward.
Recently on Hindustan Times Most Stylish Award, after 6 years of its release, Akshay Kumar opened up about how he regrets turning down the film.
Not a lot of people are aware of it but before Farhan Akhtar, the film was offered to Akshay Kumar and he turned the film down.
Akshay Kumar did something really courageous and he took the spotlight to admit how he thinks it was a mistake to do so. It takes a lot of strength in an actor to admit something but Akshay Kumar did it very peacefully. He said, “Actually, I regret not doing a film. It was Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. I was offered that film but I opted for Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobara”.
We hope sharing it with the world might have lifted a lot of weight from his shoulders. No matter what, for us, he will always be the best actor who works in films to educate the nation and not just for the sake of doing it.
