Sonam Kapoor has come a long way since Saawariya. Since making her debut, the actress has had various roles and has collected various accolades for her strong acting performances.
Earlier, the actress took a look behind at one of her most recognizable movies, Raanjhanaa. The movie hit theatres in 2013 and it completed six years very recently. Directed by Aanand L Rai, starring Tamil superstar Dhanush and Abhay Deo, and Sonam, the movie became a fan favorite instantly.
the songs in the movie had created a huge fervor among fans. The background score and songs were composed by A. R. Rahman. The Hindi lyrics of the tracks were penned by Irshad Kamil, whereas the Tamil lyrics were written by Vairamuthu. The movie had marked the debut of Dhanush in Bollywood.
Celebrating six years of Raanjhanaa, Sonam shared a special post on her social media accounts and gave us glimpses from the sets of the movie. From Sonam’s JNU days to her school days, the actress different avatars will take up back memory lane.
Dedicating a post to the movie on Instagram, she wrote, “Raanjhanaa has always been very close to my heart. It explored ideals and conflicts that I still think about, even 6 years after the release. Thank you to the entire team for being so real and fearless.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Sonam is currently shooting for her upcoming movie The Zoya Factor. The film will Malayalam star Dulqer Salmaan and Sanjay Kapoor. Donning curly hair, Sonam will be seen in a whole new avatar.
Being a loose adaptation of the 2008 novel by Anuja Chauhan, The Zoya Factor revolves around a girl named Zoya Singh Solanki who becomes a lucky charm for the Indian cricket team who eventually win the 2010 Cricket World Cup. The movie is slated to release on September 20.
