Kangana Ranaut condemns Gangubai Kathiawadi over viral video of girl recreating Alia Bhatt’s scene; ‘Should this child imitate sex worker?’

A day after taking a dig at Deepika Padukone’s recent release ‘Gehraiyaan’, The Queen actress Kangana Ranaut expressed her displeasure on a viral video of a minor girl mouthing Alia Bhatt’s dialogue from ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’.
The girl in the video is a young social media influencer Kiara Khanna also known as ‘Chhoti Alia Bhatt’.


Tagging the Minister of Women and Child Development, Smriti Irani Kangana vented her resentment about the same on her Instagram stories and wrote, “Government should take action against all the parents who are sexualizing underage children for money to promote biopic of a famous prostitute …request @SMRITIIRANIOFFICIALJI Minister of Women and Child development, please look into it”


Mentioning the clip of the video, Kangana wrote, “Should this child imitate a sex worker with a beedi in her mouth and crude and obscene dialogues?….There are hundreds of other children who are being used similarly.”

The film, ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ stars Alia in the titular role of a sex worker who goes on to become an influential madam of the Kamathipura red light area. ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ is a biographical crime drama loosely based on the life of a real sex worker mentioned in the book Mafia Queens of Mumbai by S. Hussain Zaidi. Produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Jayantilal Gada, ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ will have its world premiere at the 72nd Berlin International Film Festival this month. The film is set to arrive in cinemas on February 25, 2022.
