After quite a long time of almost two years, Abhishek Bachchan is coming back to the silver screen with his film that released recently. The actor has given a matured performance in critically acclaimed film Manmarziyaan directed by Anurag Kashyap. It can say that two years leave paid off the actor. Manmarziyaan stars Abhishek Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu, and Vicky Kaushal in the lead roles.

Recently, Abhishek was spotted attending the Jagran Film Summit. At the Film Summit, the actor talked about his career, his latest film Manmarziyaan, and the critical acclaim he is getting for his performance.

During the media interaction, Abhishek was asked about directing a film in near future. To this, the actor answered in denying and said that he has no such plans and his main focus right now is acting. He further was asked if hypothetically he was to direct a film, what kind of project he would choose. To this, Abhishek said that it would be the mainstream commercial masala Hindi film.

Before the release of Manmarziyaan, once Abhishek was asked about the honest feedback he receives from his family. His reply was that his mother Jaya Bachchan is quite lenient that way and usually praises whatever he does. While his father Amitabh Bachchan is quick in his feedback and say it to his face as is. When asked about his wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, he said that she first gauges what feedback has been given to him by his father and accordingly gives her feedback graciously. Interestingly, Abhishek revealed that his wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is basically a wannabe director because she looks at various aspects of the film whether the shot was taken a certain way etc.

On taking leave for two years, during a talk with journalist Anupama Chopra for Film Companion, the actor had said, “I didn’t say I don’t wanna be an actor anymore, I just said I need to change the kind of films I am doing. It took two years for me to get the right film, that I perceived to be the right film… How was it on the family? I spoke to them, I told them and they were very supportive… They were okay with it. I think somewhere they were like ‘Okay, one year has gone by, what is this guy doing? I think that’s a parental instinct. My wife was fine because I walk my family through everything I do so they are on the same page.”

After so many speculations, the husband-wife duo is all set to unite on the big screen next year with the film Gulaab Jamun.
