Ajay Devgn made headlines last week after turning a Dadar marriage hall into a COVID-19 treatment centre with ICU, Oxygen, and Ventilator facilities. The hospital had 20 beds, and the star was praised by all for his humanitarian gesture in those difficult times, making him a real-life hero. Anand Pandit, his ‘Thank God’ and ‘Big Bull maker,’ had carried out the whole plan. The creator informs that this was Ajay’s idea and said, “In today’s time, the medical facility is overwhelmed. So, we thought of doing something out of the box and give it back to society.”
He added that they are also planning to open two more such centres in Juhu and Borivali. In Juhu, they have converted a school into a COVID-19 centre with a 25-bed facility and oxygen, and it will be ready for use by next week. They are hoping for the support of Amitabh Bachchan.
About the Borivali centre, he said that work was in progress and it will be similar to that in Juhu. “Basically, the idea is to have 75 beds in different parts of Mumbai, so that it helps the people in the neighbourhood. The treatment there will be completely funded by us. We are taking help of doctors from various hospitals and other experts to take this initiative forward.” Apart from hospitals, Pandit and his team are also assisting several NGO’s by helping them get oxygen concentrators and beds. “We need standard things for COVID-19 facility and we are procuring it all through registered vendors. We are seeking expert help and also guidance from local doctors,” he informed.
