According to the latest reports of Bollywood Life release of Akshay Kumar-starrer titled Prithviraj postponed due to the rising COVID-19 cases. As we all know, the number of COVID-19 cases in the country has grown manifold, due to the Omicron variant. The government of Delhi was the first one to shut down the cinemas. Also, it led to the postponement of Shahid Kapoor-starrer Jersey and SS Rajamouli’s RRR being pushed ahead indefinitely.

A trade source revealed, “Prithviraj will massively aid in bringing people back to the theatres and it cannot be released when it won’t fulfill this purpose. Also, business-wise too, it does not make sense to compromise a film that will rake in the moolah at the box office. Adding more details, the source said, YRF was waiting till the last minute to see the situation in India and overseas improve but cases are accelerating, it forced their hand to hold on to the biggest title and everyone is looking at Prithviraj to take the box office by storm.”

The film also stars Sonu Sood, Sanjay Dutt and Manushi Chillar besides Akshay Kumar and is directed by Dr. Chandraprakesh Dwivedi. Also, Bollywood Life reported that the trailer of Prithviraj was supposed to release on December 27 but it was deferred as YRF was monitoring the COVID-19 situation.
