Alia Bhatt’s fans are currently in a sort of limbo. While they’ve been happy since Ranbir’s Birthday, her film Inshallah has been shelved and fans will no longer be able to see Salman and Alia together.
However, many times in the past few days, Alia has been spotted at Sanjay Leela Bhansali’ office, and after Inshallah’s end, rumour has it that Bhansali is hoping to cast Alia in other of his project, title Gangubai. Moreover, in the form of good news, Kartik Aaryan is being approached to play the male lead in the film.
Gangubai is based on a chapter from Hussain Zaidi’s novel- Mafia Queens of Mumbai, and it focuses on Gangubai Kothewali, the matriarch of Kamathipura. While Kartik has also been papped outside Bhansali’s office, it becomes evident that Bhansali has been trying to rope in the Lukka Chhupi actor for his next.
Earlier, it was reported that Bhansali was trying to approach Priyanka Chopra for the female lead, however, due to some unknown reasons, Alia Bhatt’s name is now being finalised.
If the rumours turn out to be true, Kartik Aaryan and Alia Bhatt will come together for the first time and it will be a treat to watch for their fans. Besides Gangubai, Alia will be next seen in her father’s directed film Sadak 2. Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt will join Alia in the lead roles.
Also, Alia will be seen alongside her boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor on the silver screen for the first time in Brahmastra. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, Brahmastra is a fantasy trilogy that also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Mouni Roy. Both Sadak 2 and Brahmastra are expected to hit theatres in the year 2020.
