Not once time but many times, the matter of pay disparity in Bollywood has been raised. In the row, comedy show judge Archana Puran Singh brought it up yet again. Actor and comedy show judge Archana replaced comedy show judge Navjot Singh Sidhu in Kapil Sharma Show. She taunted the show, Kapil Sharma and Salman Khan, the producer of the show for being paid less than former judge of the show. The show telecasted on Saturday, April 6, 2019.
On April 6, Romeo Akbar Walter stars John Abraham and Mouni Roy were the celebrity guests on the show. They reached the show for the promotion of the film. Mouni Roy, the tele actor turned Bollywood actress was asked by Kapil Sharma, who she would be if given a chance. To which, Mouni Roy answered, she would love to be Audrey Hepburn, the Hollywood actress and icon. John Abraham too was asked the same question,
When John Abraham is asked the same, he replied by saying that he would want to be Kapil Sharma. It was a diplomatic reply by the actor.
When Kapil asked the same thing to Archana Puran Singh, she replied by taunting that she would want to be in Navjot Singh Sidhu’s shoes. She was clear in her view because she gets paid way less than Navjot Singh Sidhu on The Kapil Sharma Show. She is being paid not even half of what the former cricketer was paid. This is a direct hit to the show and the Bollywood superstar Salman Khan.
Talking about the pay scale, Navjot Singh Sidhu was being a whopping Rs 25 crore per season of The Kapil Sharma Show, it was reported in February. On the other hand, Archana Puran Singh is being paid a relatively less Rs 2 crore per season. This is actually very lesser. She is receiving this amount because she charged the same amount for being on Comedy Circus.
Archana has taken place of Navjot Singh due to his suspension from The Kapil Sharma Show after he made the comment after the Pulwama attack by Pakistan sponsored terrorist outfit Jaish-E-Mohammed on February 14 this year.
Sudhu also made a comment on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for using the “Army as a tool for fighting the election”. Currently, Sidhu is busy in the run-up to the Lok Sabha Elections of the year 2019 after the Indian National Congress. It will be a while before he returns to The Kapil Sharma Show.
