Arjun Kapoor made his Bollywood debut in 2012 with Ishaqzaade, in which he co-starred alongside Parineeti Chopra. The film pushed him to instant celebrity and fame. Arjun, on the other hand, reportedly disclosed that Aditya Chopra turned him down for the project during his first look test with Yash Raj Films.

Aditya Chopra was the first to see my photographs and stated, ‘Yeh toh actor nahi ban sakta, isko hum supporting…’ (He can’t be an actor, but we can cast him as a supporting character) He can’t be the lead actor. “He wasn’t impressed with my photographs,” Arjun revealed to Bollywood Hungama during his struggle days.

Arjun stated that despite growing up in the industry, he had never met Aditya Chopra. Shanoo Sharma, the YRF casting director, took him under his wing and mentored him for 6 months while also assisting him in losing weight.

He claimed that Aditya had seen an uncensored video of his audition in which he was joking with the casting director after the audition. He said, “acha isme kuch colour hai” (he has other talents as well). “He can do other things; he’s not one-dimensional, and that’s how I got my first movie,” he said.

Arjun acknowledged having a family background, but making his Bollywood debut without the assistance of his father and producer Boney Kapoor was a dream come true for him. He refused to accept his father’s assistance since he believed it to be a support system.

The actor is excited to see how the crowd reacts to him. Arjun has grown personally throughout the years 2021 and 2022. He is concerned about his health and has taken up fitness seriously. This year, he has a diverse lineup of projects that will see him cross several genres. He will appear in Mohit Suri’s Ek Villain 2, Aasman Bhardwaj’s Kuttey, and Ajay Bahl’s The Ladykiller, among other films.
