Ayushmann Khurrana’s Badhaai Ho Marks His Biggest Opening Till Date

Ayushmann Khurrana is known for choosing a different kind of films. His last release dark comedy Andhadhun with Tabu and Radhika Apte was an impressive one. His recent release is a family entertainer film titled Badhaai Ho in which the actor is playing the role of an elder son who gets to know that his 50+ mom is pregnant. The role of Ayushmann’s mother is played by Neena Gupta.  


Amit Sharma directorial Badhaai Ho has been garnering the attention of everyone ever since the release of its trailer. Both critics and fans like the film. The film has collected Rs 7.29 crore on its opening day. Also, it marks Ayushmann’s biggest opener till date. On its second day, the film earned Rs 11.67 crore, and on its third day it’s expected to earn higher, and earn Rs 12 crore, bringing its total collection to around Rs 30 crore.

The film is a family drama which revolves around the story of a family dealing with an accidental pregnancy. The film is racing far ahead of release Namaste England, which features Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra in lead role. 


Seeing the overwhelming response for the film, the actor said, “As an artiste, I have always backed concepts, filmmakers who were doing clutter breaking work. I think I have been lucky enough in my journey to have got the right films and I’m thankful to all my filmmakers for believing in me.”

“If a film is not watched and enjoyed and endorsed by the audience, it is not a success. So, the rules don’t change even if it’s a content film. Whenever I get a script in my hand, I think from the position of whether I would want to watch this film as an audience,” he also said.


“Success motivates me to do better work, to scout for better scripts and to be disruptive yet entertaining. I always go with my instinct and my reading of the audience. So far and thankfully, more often than not, I have got the right answers. This reward is extremely gratifying for me because it teaches me that I’m choosing the right films,” Ayushmann said.
