A day before the 70th Republic Day, two Bollywood films got released which are the Kangana Ranaut-starer Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi and the Nawazuddin Siddiqui-starer Thackeray.

Let you know that Republic Day is considered moneymaking holiday for the movie release and it turns out to be true indeed!

Meanwhile, URI: The Surgical Strike, released on 11th January 2019 is still in the race with other two releases.

As per trade analyst, Taran Adarsh, Manikarnika has an excellent weekend as it crosses ₹ 40 cr mark after a sluggish start. Kangana’s biggest opener… Delhi, NCR, UP, Punjab, and Rajasthan have performed best… Fri 8.75 cr, Sat 18.10 cr, Sun 15.70 cr. Total: ₹ 42.55 cr. India biz and 10 crores overseas.

And Thackeray is doing well in Hindi and Marathi version. Till now the movie has earned 22.90 crores in India only.

Meanwhile, URI is near to join the 200 crore club and has earned 157.38 crores till day 17. Vicky Kaushal’s movie is rocking at the box office and an incredible eye-opener.

Last year, on 26th January, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat made Rs 32 crore staring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, and Shahid Kapoor. The film single-handedly achieved a remarkable win. However, the above three major releases have earned Rs 37.85 crore together.

In its lifetime, Padmaavat has crossed a massive total of Rs 302.15 crore and now we wonder if Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, Thackeray, and Uri: The Surgical Strike will pull it off together or Padvamat remains highlighted.
