Bombay High Court will hear Raj Kundra’s bail application on Monday. Raj Kundra, who was arrested on charges of alleged pornography-related case, has claimed that his arrest is illegal.
On Friday, Subhash Jadhav, Raj Kundra’s lawyer, has told that the arrest of Raj is illegal and that none of the videos can be termed pornographic. The police were unable to point out any sexually explicit act in any of the videos which indicated illegality under section 67a in the 4000 page charge sheet filed by the police. The remaining sections that are applied to Raj Kundra are bailable.
Raj Kundra has been booked under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections including 420 (cheating) 34 (common intention), 292, and 293 (related to obscene and indecent advertisement and displays) and the similar sections of Indecent Representation of Women (prohibition) Act and the IT Act.
Raj Kundra had been arrested on July 20 by the crime branch of Mumbai Police and was sent to police custody till July 23. His bail was denied in a recent court hearing and the police custody has been extended till July 27.
