Reams of newsprint have been dedicated to Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter’s budding romance. According to the grapevine, their onscreen romance spilled over into real life during the making of Shashank Khaitan’s Dhadak.
Janhvi’s father Boney Kapoor rubbished the reports doing the rounds. “Yes, Ishaan and Janhvi have done a movie together and they must have become friends. I respect my daughter and her friendship with Ishaan,” he told an entertainment website.
A source close to the Kapoor family also laughed off reports that Ishaan frequents Janhvi’s house and that Boney approves of their relationship.
“Ishaan has, in fact, never visited the Kapoor residence after Dhadak released. There is nothing more than friendship between Janhvi and Ishaan,” the insider clarified to the website.
Meanwhile, it was being said that Janhvi and Ishaan were roped in for the Hindi remake of the Telugu hit Dear Comrade, which will be produced by Karan Johar. The producer was blown away by the Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna-starrer and announced the remake even before the original hit the theatres.
However, Karan clarified on Twitter that Janhvi and Ishan were not a part of the film and that the cast was yet to be finalised.
“All the best and big success to the team of #DearComradeOnJuly26th ! Also a CLARIFICATION! No lead actors have been considered or approached for the film as yet! The planning for this lovely film is underway!” he tweeted.
