Salman Khan’s amazing Eid release, Bharat, has turned out to do a fair business at the box office. The period drama which is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar has faced another dip and added an estimated Rs 6.75 crore more to its account on Wednesday, says a report by Box Office India. With this addition to the total running collection of this high-budget film has gone even more than Rs 170 crore benchmark.
The drops in business, as of now, are inconsiderable. However, today, the decline will be a lot high, courtesy the face-off between India and New Zealand in ICC Cricket World Cup tournament. But there is one thing and that is the film hardly has any competition at the box office in the coming week, it is expected to outreach the benchmark of the Rs 200 crore-club. The same, though, is said to be a little difficult if we talk about Rs 300 crore-club if one goes by the current trend. According to the BoxOfficeIndia report, the film is currently successful business in Delhi/UP circuit with East Punjab being the second best market for it. The Mumbai circuit, the report tells that it has not performed up to the mark. Its business there is above average.
Bharat, starring Katrina Kaif as the lead alongside Salman Khan, also features Sunil Grover, Jackie Shroff, Disha Patani, Sonali Kulkarni and Tabu in important roles, among others. The film is an official adaptation of the 2014 South Korean drama Ode To My Father, the film is the third collaboration between Ali and Salman after Sultan (2016) and Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), both of which made Rs 300 crore-club on the Box Office. Bharat, is, however, a jointly produced by Reel Life Productions, Salman Khan Films, and T-Series, showcases “the journey of a man and a nation together.” The film started in the cinemas from June 5th.
