‘War’ starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff is minting serious money at the box office. The film has seen a little dip in the collection, but nonetheless, it has still managed to earn well over 74 crores in its two days at the theatre.

The film earned 22-23 crores on Thursday, and beforehand it had opened up to a blockbuster opening of Rs 51.6 crores. As per a report in Box Office India, ‘War’ saw a dip of approximately 60%, which it stated was normal considering it released on a public holiday (2 October). The same report also states that on its third day, i.e, on Friday, it will undergo a further drop before raking in money at the weekend.

As per the report, ‘War’ faces a crucial first week, where the collection made by the film on Saturday or Sunday will determine its verdict, whether it is a hit or flop.

‘War’ had become the highest opening film just below, Avengers: Endgame and Bahubali 2. While both Endgame and Bahubali released in multiple languages, War remains the only film that released exclusively in Hindi and earned that much money. It broke the record previously held by Yash Raj Films’ venture Thugs of Hindostan.

Furthermore, the film has quickly become the highest opening films of Hrithik and Tiger’s careers. Informing the same on Twitter, film and trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote, “War creates H-I-S-T-O-R-Y… Sets new benchmarks for Hindi films… Big holiday [GandhiJayanti] + unprecedented hype results in mind boggling *Day 1* total… Crosses the previous best – Thugs Of Hindostan – by a margin, despite lower screen count.”

Directed by Siddharth Anand, ‘War’ has received rave reviews because of its stunning action sequences, but has been let down by the predictable storyline.
