Ayushmann Khurrana’s latest cinematic offering, Dream Girl, winning the box office. While films such as Prassthanam, Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas and The Zoya Factor released recently, they have failed to attract audiences.
Dream Girl has been minting money the BO, due to various factors. Ayushmann’s acting coupled with strong performances from the supporting cast elevated the film above its competitors. Recently, Dream Girl had crossed 100 cr mark, and the film has added approximately 8 crores to its total since.
After Dream Girl soared past the Rs 100 crore mark, a delighted Ayushmann Khurrana took to social media and thanked fans for the love.
Dream Girl is Ayushmann Khurrana’s second film to have crossed the 100 cr mark after Badhai Ho raked in Rs 137 crores. In the film, Ayushmann acts as a woman while helping his father to clear his debts and certain situations escalate in funny nuances.
Meanwhile, Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas and Prassthanam are going neck and neck with each other. Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas opened up with Rs 1.1 to 1.2 crore. It earned Rs 1.55 crore on Saturday and Rs 1.85 crore on Sunday. On Monday, it made around Rs 90 lakh and around Rs 65 lakh on Tuesday. On Wednesday, it is expected to earn around Rs 50 lakh.
Prassthanam, too, has struggled at the Box Office. Since Sunday, the movie has only earned 2 crores and despite boasting a stellar star cast Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Ali Fazal, Manisha Koirala, Chunky Panday, Amyra Dastur and Satyajeet Dubey, the political drama has failed to make an impact.
Such is the disappointment of the recently released films that Dream Girl despite being released earlier, has minted more money on certain days than the combined totals of Zoya Factor, Prassthanam and Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas. As per the current numbers, all three films are set to go down as flops.
