Box Office Collections: ‘War’ collects 20 crores on Day 3, expected to surpass 100 cr mark today

With each passing day, Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff’s film ‘War’ is inching closer to glory. After becoming the highest opening Hindi release recently, the film is now closing in on a mammoth 100 crore mark under one week in its release.

‘War’ opening up to a blockbuster sum of 53.35 crores, and because it released on a public day, Day 2 saw a dip in collections, but it still managed to rake in a respectable amount of 2o odd crores and added 21 crores on its Day 3, as it inches closer to the iconic 100 crore mark.

As per a report from Box Office India, the film is expected to do well on its Day 4 and Day 5 that includes a Sunday holiday. Starring Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff, and Vaani Kapoor in lead roles, ‘War’ will set another benchmark as it looks set to enter the 100 crore club in under a week of its release.

The film received mixed reviews from critics, who felt that despite the stunning action sequences, the film lacks a spine, it has a predictable storyline. ‘War’ marks the first collaboration of Hrithik and Tiger and their coming together has added to the hype around the film.

Speaking about his their coming together, Tiger spoke of Hrithik, “I feel War is really special film for me because he is somebody I look up to so, it was easy in a way to relate to my character, because my character looks up to his character in the film as well. It was a genuine feeling for me.”

Director Siddharth Anand was quizzed at the success bash of ‘War’ about its sequel, to which he answered, “It’s too early to talk about it, but I definitely had an idea to convert this into a franchise. We were waiting for the audience reaction to the film. Now, I am feeling that it’s an audience demand more than our desire. We will soon sit together to decide our future course of action.”
