Since Diwali, movie buffs have been spoilt for choices with so many Hollywood and Bollywood films to choose from. In Hindi cinema only, Ayushmann Khurrana’s ‘Bala’ and Housefull 4, headlined by Akshay Kumar have been making people cackle. Both the films achieved some big benchmarks this week at the Box Office.

Talking about Bala first, the film after 6 days at the Box Office has collected a total sum of Rs. 66.93 Crores. After the holiday of Guru Nanak Jayanti, as obvious, the film’s collections dipped by 46% as it managed to rake in a meager sum of Rs 5.20 crore on Wednesday.

Film and trade analyst Taran Adarsh summed up updates box office figures of the film on Twitter. He wrote, “Bala registers an expected decline [on Wed], after the holiday [on Tue]… Despite the dip, the film is a success story/Hit due to the controlled economics… Fri 10.15 cr, Sat 15.73 cr, Sun 18.07 cr, Mon 8.26 cr, Tue 9.52 cr, Wed 5.20 cr. Total: Rs 66.93 cr. India biz.”

The film directed by Amar Kaushik also features Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam in lead roles. It is based on the life of a man who suffers from pre-mature balding and the insecurities he goes through because of it.

Elsewhere, Akshay Kumar’s film Housefull 4 has gained big bucks as it has now crossed the Rs. 200 crores figure. By doing so, it becomes only the second comedy film to enter the 200 crore club. After Wednesday, the film’s collection stood at Rs. 200.58 crores which is just a little shy of Akshay’s previous blockbuster Mission Mangal.

Directed by Farhad Simji, the movie also stars Riteish Deshmukh, Kriti Sanon, Kriti Kharbanda, Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol in lead roles. It released alongside Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar’s film Saand Ki Aankh, and Rajkummar Rao’s ‘Made in China’, however, both Bala and Housefull 4 have stolen a march on its competition by some distance.
