Ayushmann Khurrana’s film Bala is breaking records at the Box Office and it has been setting up a pace that other films currently on display the BO cannot match up. Films like Pagalpanti and Marjaavaan are struggling to keep up with the figures of Bala while they have each performed decently.
Looking at the latest Box Office figures of Amar Kaushik’s directorial Bala, the movie raked in Rs. 1.15 crores on Tuesday, despite being in its third week. The money added on Tuesday helped the film to a total of Rs. 108.07 crores in lifetime earnings so far, in India.
The movie that stars Bhumi Pendnekar and Yami Gautam alongside Ayushmann Khurrana had already become Ayushmann’s third film to cross 100 crores in earnings and his sixth overall consecutive hit film after the likes of Badhai Ho, Andhadhun, Article 15, and more.
Bala tells the tale of a man that deals with premature balding and as a result his attempts to get back his mane. Moreover, the film has been doing ever so well, holding off competition from Marjaavaan and Pagalpanti.
Marjaavaan released one week earlier than Pagalpanti, and the film is now starting to slow down after a colossal start. As per reports, the film is expected to have done a business of around Rs. 80 lakh on Tuesday, which is more than 20 percent drop from its collections of last week. Starring Tara Sutaria, Sidharth Malhotra and Riteish Deshmukh in lead roles, the movie has collected upwards of Rs. 42 crores so far.
If the trend of slowing down continues that Marjaavaan will have a hard time trying to cross the 50 crore mark which would leave a bad taste in the mouth of makers after a promising start.
Elsewhere, Pagalpanti, despite being a multi starrer film has also struggled to strike a chord with the audiences. The movie features John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Pulkit Samrat, Ileana D’Cruz, Urvashi Rautela, and Kriti Kharbanda in lead roles.
So far, it has collected just Rs. 20 crores approximately and early estimates suggest that the movie added Rs. 1.5 crores to its total on Tuesday. Pagalpanti’s collections have dropped massively since the weekend and the film is struggling at the Box Office now.
