Jagan Shakti directorial Mission Mangal which stars Akshay Kumar in the lead role has continued in its strong run on Tuesday as the film successfully sails across the weekdays.
The film which features an ensemble star cast of Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Kriti Kulhari, Nitya Menen, Sharman Joshi among others has already crossed the Rs 100 crore mark at the box office in just five days.
According to the latest report on the Boxofficeindia.com, on Tuesday, the film has raked in a total of Rs 7.50 crore on its sixth day at the box office. The film has managed to collect a total of Rs 112.50 crore in six days at the box office.
Mission Mangal’ delves into the insides of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and brings in front the contribution of female scientists and the efforts they put into making India the first country to reach the Mars in its maiden attempt.
Mission Mangal clashed with John Abraham’s ‘Batla House’ on Independence Day which made way for one of the biggest domestic box office clashes in recent years.
Elsewhere, after crossing the Rs 50-crore mark in just five days of its release, Batla House continues its golden run at the box office. The film earned Rs 4.78 crore on Tuesday, taking its total collection so far to Rs 57.82 crore.
Directed by Nikkhil Advani, Batla House stars John Abraham as Sanjay Kumar, a police officer inspired by real-life hero DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, who is a recipient of the President’s Gallantry Award.
The film tells the story of the controversial Batla House encounter in September 2008, in which two alleged terrorists of the Indian Mujahideen and a decorated officer of the Delhi Police were killed.
