Super 30 is directed by Vikas Bahl, best known for his 2014 film Queen, starring Kangana Ranaut in the lead role. Bahl has also helmed films such as Chillar Party (2011) and Shaandaar (2015).
Super 30 is based on the life of Patna-based mathematician and educationist, Anand Kumar. Kumar is the founder of the Super 30 programme, under which deserving students from economically-weaker sections of the society are prepared for the IIT-JEE exam for absolutely no cost. Hundreds of students from across the country have made it to the IITs under Kumar’s guidance.

Super 30 is enjoying a tax-free status in several states of India including Bihar, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, New Delhi, Maharashtra, Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir, which is one of the prime reasons behind its success, especially in the second and third weeks. Besides that, the word of mouth for the film is very strong, which is ensuring notable footfalls for it.
