The audiences were in for a treat this week as the box office saw a mammoth collision of three movies, Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas, Prassthanam and The Zoya Factor. With already two films namely, Chhichhore and Dream Girl already minting money, it remains to be seen how people turn the tide in favour of which film.
The biggest release of this week, Prassthanam boasts of a stellar cast including Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Ali Fazal, Chunky Panday, Manisha Koirala, Amyra Dastur and Satyajeet Dubey.
The movie revolves around warring gangs, political rivals, conniving cops and family secrets. It is a political drama and is the remake of a 2010 Telugu film of the same name.
The film is expected to start with a flurry due to that stellar ensemble cast and should collect anywhere between 4 to 6 crores on its Day 1. Prassthanam’s direct collision will be with Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas. While Prassthanam introduces Manayata Dutt’s first production film, Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas will introduce Sunny Deol as a director. The film also marks the debut of two new stars Karan Deol and Sahher Bambba.
Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas is set in the picturesque valleys of Manali and will be loved by the young audiences. Despite the tough competition, the movie is expected to rake in nearly 4 to 5 crores.
Elsewhere, The Zoya Factor is also in the running for Box Office supremacy here. Led by a star cast of Sonam Kapoor and Dulquer Salmaan, the movie is a romantic comedy that revolves around the life of Zoya Solanki, played by Sonam.
Expectations will be high from The Zoya Factor and the movie is expected to earn close to 5 crores on its opening day. Despite the mixed reviews for the movie, the fact that it is based on cricket and superstitions should possibly set the cash registers ringing. But only time will tell which movie grips the audiences the most.
