Its been almost two years since actor Sushant Singh Rajput allegedly committed suicide at his Bandra apartment. There was a major uproar among fans after his death, and the circumstances of SSR’s demise led to a CBI investigation after the actor’s father, KK Singh complained to the Patna police against the actor’s former girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty and her family.

The Narcotics Control Bureau and Enforcement Directorate also got involved in the case which was in the headlines for the promising part of 2020. Although it has been almost two years since Sushant Singh passed away, the verdict of the case is yet to be announced. Previously in a response to a Right to Information Act query, the CBI refused to share an update on the ongoing case of the ‘Dil Bechara’ actor. A news agency shared CBI’s statement on their Twitter account that read, ”Sushant Singh Rajput case is in the process of investigation, information about the progress may impede the process of investigation. Information requested cannot be provided.’

Even today, the topic of SSR’s unfortunate death keeps trending on social media, courtesy of his fans. Along with the fans, Sushant Singh Rajput’s family including his sisters Priyanka and Meetu also keep persuading the CBI to fast-track the proceedings by organizing peaceful protests. Earlier last month, Priyanka and Meetu joined a group of fans in Delhi where they were heard chanting ‘Justice for SSR’ while holding up placards urging a speedy investigation.
