Producer Dinesh Vijan talked about the film’s concept and said, “The story of a struggling but ambitious businessman is so relatable and Raj and Mouni have distinct looks that are true to the film’s fabric. The shoot is going well even though we were filming in Ahmedabad’s Old City over the weekend. The gallis are so narrow that cars can’t pass through. The actors had to be ferried to the location, Lakshmi Narayan Pol, quietly in autorickshaws because after Stree, Raj is quite the rage here.”
He also talked about why he chose Mouni for the role. He said, “We wanted someone who’d connect with the heartland and Mouni, a typical Indian beauty, has a huge fan following. She has a strong personality but gentle eyes and is a good dancer which is essential for the role as her character has a passion for classical Indian dance having learnt it. She has started working on her Gujarati dialect.”
The first schedule of the film is being shot in Mumbai, and the team will then fly off to China next month to shoot the second schedule.
Rajkumar Rao was last seen in Stree opposite Shraddha Kapoor. The film is doing wonders at the box office at it has managed to entered Rs 100 crore club on its third weekend.
On the other hand, Mouni Roy made her Bollywood debut with the film Gold opposite Akshay Kumar that was released this 15th August. Gold also entered Rs 100 crore club. She will also be seen in Brahmastra opposite Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. The film will release on 15th August 2019 and would clash with her own film Made In China.
