Right now, Deepika Padukone is the most bankable and versatile actress of Bollywood whose repertoire is more than impressive. From Om Shanti Om to Padmaavat, we have seen this actress flourishing with every performance of her. She has won hearts with her last appearance as Rani Padmavati which was a blockbuster of all time, directed by SLB.

Therefore, it doesn’t come as a surprise when Padukone was recently appointed as the Chairperson of the 21st MAMI Mumbai Film Festival. The former chairperson Kiran Rao, wife of Aamir Khan has stepped down from the position to focus on film projects. The Mumbai Academy of the Moving Image (MAMI) is a public trust that organizes the annual international film festival in Mumbai known as the Mumbai Film Festival (MFF).

Sharing her happiness on becoming the Chairperson to Mumbai Mirror, DP gushed, “It’s an absolute honour and a huge responsibility. I believe in MAMI’s vision & we are committed to creating a community that cinema lovers & creators of a film-passionate nation like ours truly deserve.”

Even Kiran Rao was elated to welcome Deepika Padukone as the new Chairperson and called her one of India’s most loved film stars. We also congratulate DP for adding feat in her hat!

Meanwhile, Deepika is prepping for her upcoming flick Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak which will go on the floors from the third week of March. For this, she will primarily shoot in Mumbai and Delhi.

Chhapaak is based on the true story of acid attack victim, Laxmi Agarwal which also features Vikrant Massey.

Last year, the actress tied the nuptial knot with Ranveer Singh at Lake Como, Italy and it was one classic wedding which is kept private away from the media glares. Everyone is still gushing about their wedding pictures and saying ‘why so beautiful’!
