Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khattar starrer Shashank Khaitan’s Dhadak is trying to match the success of Nagraj Manjule’s Sairat with following its box office collection of two days. On the first day of its opening, it earned Rs 8.71 crore and became the highest opening Bollywood film featuring newcomers. It surpasses the first-day collection of Student Of The Year.
On the second day of its opening, the film gathered Rs. 11.04 crore. For the two day collection, it collected 19.75 crore and sources say that it will match the collection of Marathi film Sairat. The original film Sairat was a huge hit on the box office, confirmed the sources of Dhadak. Seeing the craze for the film, theatres had to add shows at midnight and 3 am.
Dharma Production presenting and Shashank Khaitan directorial Dhadak shows the story of two lovers. The role of Parthavi Singh is played by Janhvi Kapoor and Madhukar Bagla is portrayed by Ishaan Khatter. The lover belongs to the different castes and this becomes the hurdles in their love story. When Parthavi’s family comes to know about their love affair, hell knocks their paradise.
Since the film was announced, it has been surrounded by strong buzz as it is the debut film of late Bollywood diva Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s elder daughter Janhvi Kapoor. Also, fans were eager to see if the remake of Sairat could recreate the magic of Sairat or not. After seeing the collection of Monday, a view of its success will be cleared.
