Dia Mirza is forever beauty. It was International Street Children’s Day on Friday. Not many people know about this but yes there is an International day to celebrate children who live on streets and are underprivileged. Dia Mirza who is an actress, as well as an activist, has promised to fight for children who cannot afford to have even basic necessities and rights. She said “I will fight till each one of you have your rights. I think the world needs to wake up to how incredible each one of you is and to how much talent you have. You can shine if given the opportunity.” She is absolutely right about it. All that one needs is an opportunity to outshine the world and a ray of hope. Dia Mirza is being that ray of hope in the lives of these children.
“With Save The Children, we are going to make sure you have the right to education, the right to health care and the right to opportunity. I promise to make each one of the invisible, visible,” Dia further continued in a statement.
The world is recognizing the problem. There are a lot of children who need support and love and proper care. Not to be something extraordinary but to be just normal. So to raise awareness and as part of the welfare programme, there is going to be a cricket tournament for street children that will be organized in London next month. The Street Child Cricket World Cup in London (SCCWC) helps to reach to a maximum crowd and aims to unite people from all of the parts of the world to come together and be a part of the noble cause through the power of sports.
The tournament has organized and called together ten teams from nine countries. These include teams from India (Team India North, Team India South), England, Tanzania, Bangladesh, South Africa, Sri Lanka, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Nepal, and Mauritius.
