Bollywood actress Malaika Arora, who grabbed eyeballs with her flawless dance moves in the iconic “Chaiyya Chaiyya” song, feels that despite there’s a trend of remixes in Bollywood these days, some numbers are not meant to be touched.
To tell you, the chartbuster hit song “Chaiyya Chaiyya” from Maniratnam’s 1998 hit “Dil Se” was sung by Sukhwinder Singh and Sapna Awasthi and is still fresh in numerous hearts and minds. The video of the song featured Malaika Arora with Shah Rukh Khan, who danced their hearts out atop a train.
Malaika Arora, who is currently judging a dance reality show on Sony Entertainment Television, was seen shaking a leg to the popular song on the sets. When asked about the song, Malaika said, “When you play that song, you cannot stop yourself from dancing. It is an iconic song. When I picturized Chaiyya Chaiyya, Geeta Kapur was assisting Farah Khan around then and I was learning under Terence Lewis.”
The actress said, “I don’t have anything against the recreations. Some of the remixes are phenomenal and go with the present age and audience, yet here are some numbers that should simply not be touched and tampered with.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Malaika Arora is currently judging MTV’s famous show “Supermodel Of The Year ” with Milind Sonam and Masaba Gupta. The actress will next be seen judging “India’s Best Dancer” alongside renowned choreographers Terence Lewis and Geeta Kapur. The show will get aired from February 29 on Sony TV.
