The movie which only spoke about patriotism, and the one and only ‘mulk’ ‘India’, ‘Chak De India’, has completed 13 years today. The film presented many girls through Shah Rukh Khan as the lead. Shah Rukh Khan as coach Kabir Khan in Chak De! India won hearts back in 2007. The film not only put India’s then neglected sport Hockey under the spotlight, but also instilled a sense of pride among every viewer. It became a bridge between the world of women athletes and the rest of the country. These ‘hockey players’ have all found a destiny of their own 13 years later.
1. Sagarika Ghatge Khan
Sagarika Ghatge is a popular face in the industry, she got many roles after the movie in Hindi and Marathi films and is now married to the Indian cricketer Zaheer Khan.
2. Tanya Abrol
Remember the angry ‘Balbir Kaur’ from Chandigarh, Tanya Abrol went on to gain fame through the film and appear in ‘CID’ and various Punjabi films. She was last seen in ‘Bareilly Ki Beti’, which had received quite a few acclaims.
3. Chitrashi Rawat
Playing a sweet innocent girl in the movie, Chitrashi Rawat’s acting career graph saw an upward swing as she worked in many popular movies and TV shows.
