Beauty, it’s definition and trend tend to change after every now and then. Whether it be the dressing sense, makeup transformation or hairdo everything evolves and the actresses adapt to the particular change in a flick of the moment and adapts to the change seamlessly with elegance, grace and their beautiful persona. Here are a list of five actresses which depicts the difference from the time they made debut to present day.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas, oops no, it’s just Priyanka now, made her debut with the 2002 Tamil film, Thamizhan. However, she made her Bollywood debut the following year with a spy thriller The Hero. As a freshly crowned Miss India in 2000, PeeCee wore tight lined black eyeliner and frosty brown lipsticks and sometimes maybe pink lips, kohl-rimmed eyes and pale eyeshadow all over the lids. In 2019, she sealed the Cannes look with dual graphic eyeliner, a plump pink pout and contoured cheeks with a hint of highlighter. And for day to day makeup she gears up the no makeup makeup look.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Aishwarya made her acting debut in 1997 with dual role in Mani Ratnam’s Tamil political drama film Iruvar, and her Bollywood debut that same year in the romantic comedy Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya opposite Bobby Deol. She glammed up the look with brown satin sultry lips, blunt bar eyeliner with brown eyeshadows and red bronzers on her cheeks. But now she is ocassionally seen sporting red lips with pale nude lips and barely there smokey eyeliner.
Deepika Padukone has never looked so good as she did in her debut film, 2007’s “Om Shanti Om”, co-starring Shahrukh Khan. Deepika played the role of a 1970’s Bollywood film heroine, and did she ever look like the perfect “Dreamy Girl”! Old-fashioned Bollywood makeup is characterized by exaggerated cat eye makeup and pinky-nude lips (i.e. yesteryear actresses Helen and Hema Malini). But in her latest movie 83, she is seen sporting bold eyes, winged liner, a cute, poofy hairdo and her signature nude lips.
Kareena Kapoor Khan
In this film, Kareena was wearing mascara, matte foundation, bronzed cheeks, tightlined eyes, and nude lipsticks. Although it was subtle and “de-glam” by the standards of that time, it is the normal amount of makeup people wear today. Kareena came into her own with the natural-esque, soft-glam looks in this film. An elevated version of her signature kajal-and-nude-lips look. Kareena, kajal and nude lips with no foundation and a single stroke of mascara go hand-in-hand.
The British-Indian actor has clearly come a long way since her Bollywood debut with Boom in 2003, having etched a permanent spot in the film industry today. She made audiences adore her in Namastey London (2007), Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani (2009) and of course, the widely-loved Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011). Later, she also played noteworthy roles in Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Baar Baar Dekho (2016) and Bharat (2019). Most recently, she’s also added yet another feather to her cap by launching her own makeup line, Kay by Katrina. Her Bollywood debut in Boom (2003) saw her playing a supermodel with tumbling curls, kohl-rimmed eyes and nude lips. But while promoting for Sooryavanshi she was spotted with a different look. She is usually seen wearing nude lips whether it be Kapil Sharma Comedy Show or any ramp-walk. She adds a bit of tint on her chiseled cheeks which acts like a cherry on the cake.
