Farah Khan, a filmmaker and choreographer, is the latest celebrity to earn the UAE Golden Visa, following Boney Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, and Dulquer Salmaan. Farah turned to Instagram to post a photo of herself holding her Golden visa, thanking the UAE government for the honour. The filmmaker wrote a note to say she had received her visa for her contribution to Indian film.

The filmmaker also expressed gratitude to the Dubai Film and TV Commission for its support of the creative community. The visa was given to her at the Dubai Expo. “However much we deny it, it always feels good to be appreciated… I’m so honored…… Thanks to Dubai Film and TV Commission 4 supporting the creative people @filmdubai @aljanahi, (sic)” she wrote while thanking the Dubai authorities for their love and honour.

Celebrities like Neha Kakkar and Apoorva Mehta, CEO of Dharma movies commented on the post by Farah.

Dulquer Salmaan had previously expressed his thanks for the honour bestowed upon him on social media. The Abu Dhabi government’s Department of Culture and Tourism awarded the actor a renowned 10-year golden Visa. The filmmaker was presented with the Golden Visa by Emirate officials including Abdul Aziz al Dosari, director, Yusuff Ali MA, chairman of Lulu Group, Badreyya Al Mazrooei from TwoFour FiftyFour, and vice-chairman of Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce.

Happy New Year, starring Deepika Padukone, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood, and Abhishek Bachchan, was a hit in the Middle East because much of the film was shot in Dubai, and the dancing comedy film earned a lot of attention there.
