The Bollywood industry is blessed with many talented singers but when it comes to Arijit Singh, he is considered the soul of Bollywood. His voice will take you down to the memory lane which you have been trying to escape for very long. When he sings it is almost like time has frozen the moment right there and then.

His voice has the ability to calm and relax one down in the way a no one has ever known. No matter which song it is, original or an old song remix, he always does the justice to the song and its lyrics. Today the young soul of the Bollywood industry is celebrating his 32nd birthday today.

Here are the facts about Arijit Singh you didn’t know:

 

Arijit Singh’s father is Punjabi and his mother is Bengali. He gets his musical interest from his maternal side of the family, as they have always been into music. It was a childhood dream of Arijit Singh to be a singer.

Other than his immense love of music Music, Arijit has also a lot of interest in photography, cycling, and Bengali novels. He’s a badminton player, writer, movie fan and a documentary maker as well.

Arijit Singh was trained under the Hazari Brothers at the mere age of 3. He earned a scholarship from the government of training for training into vocals in classical music when he was just 9 years old. 

Arijit Singh owns an NGO called ‘Let There Be Light’ which looks after and works for the people who belong to  Below Poverty Line (BPL) community. It conducts activities like blood bank camp, distribution of clothes, books and more for the underprivileged children.

Arijit Singh participated in a reality show Fame Gurukul in 2005. During the show, he was recognized by Sanjay Leela Bhansali for his talent and he asked him to sing ‘Yun Shabnami’ from Saawariya. Unfortunately, because of some issue during the production,  the script changed and his song was never released.
