Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa’s tweet broke the record as the most retweeted tweet over the weekend. The billionaire used the technique of free cash to 100 randomly selected people who follow and retweet him.

His tweet got retweeted by more than 5.6 million Twitter users as of now and as promised he will give away 1 million yen to 100 people, the equivalent of roughly $10,000 or 6 crore per person.

“With a daily appreciation, I will give 100 million yen (total of gifts million yen) in cash. The only way to apply is to follow me and RT this tweet. The reception is up to 1/7. I will direct DM from me to the winner!” the Japanese-language tweet from 5th January reads.

Over 1.5 million netizens claim a prize of 100 million Japanese yen (around Rs. 6 crores). The previous holder of the title of “most numbers of retweets was held by Carter Wilkerson, who wanted to have Wendy’s chicken nuggets.

While there are literally millions of responses, here are some of the reactions to Maezawa’s tweet:

As soon as the deadline comes to an end, Maezawa tweeted, “I finished sending DM to 100 winners. I am deeply impressed and grateful to all of you for your wonderful dream and Rt. Because it was too popular, I would like to do the second one 、、、 before that #ZOZOからもお年玉 eh!? Eh!?”

Maezawa’s estimated worth is said to be $2 billion and is the founder of the Japanese retail websites Start Today and Zozotown. Also, he is the first passenger on Elon Musk’s flight around the moon which is tentatively scheduled to happen in 2023.

Well, for your information, this is indeed true and he will soon direct message the winners. However, it might be a nightmare logically to give money on social media.

Soon, this will also become a trend on a vast platform, Twitter but be careful there are many frauds out there!
