Director Homi Adajania discusses Irrfan Khan’s passion for acting and how difficult it is to think about cinema without thinking about the star, who passed away last year after a two-year battle with cancer
Homi said that Irrfan told her at the end of their shoot that he had grown a lot as a human and although he had experienced a lot of discomforts, he had relegated it to another part of his head. He admitted to her that it was not fun, but it was special and therefore, no longer a source of discomfort. He did not seek recognition or stardom any more, but he meant it when he told him, “Yaar Homi, Mujhe acting ke bahut mohabbat hai.”
Homi says that his comments made an impression on her and that it is impossible for her to think about cinema without remembering Irrfan and how much pleasure he derived from the art he adored. She believes his fans shared this excitement too is eternally thankful for being able to accompany him on a few steps in his journey, even for this short period of time.
