Gippy Grewal who is a Punjabi singer-songwriter and actor recently spoke Yo Yo Honey Singh and the rise and fall of rapper’s music career in an interview with Lallantop.com. The singer said that Honey was a great and his stardom was only because of his talent and heart. He said “I didn’t speak to Honey Singh when he was in rehabilitation, as he didn’t have his phone for 3-4 months. Now, we are back in touch and he is focusing on his music. I have missed his music.”
The singer was also asked about his collaboration with Hony Singh that they did in the past and the singer said that he was a dedicated and a passionate guy about music and worked really hard for it. Gippy recalled the time about the first meeting and how he turned him down because it was not his style of collaboration but Honey did not stop and finally made him ready for one.
“Honey Singh wasn’t offended when I didn’t work with him, unlike others. Then one day, Diljit Dosanjh showed me his album The Next Level’s song Panga that included Honey Singh and right after hearing that, I was ready to collaborate with Honey. He promised that he would work hard on the song and he delivered on the promise.” Gippi said.
The two later collaborated for a song and made the hit single ‘Angreji Beat.’ He recalled the time they made the song and he said that the song was made for the Punjabi audience and there wasn’t even a single word of Hindi in it, but it managed to have a connection with people out there and was a hit one.
Honey Singh returned to the industry with his song ‘Makhana’ which did well on the charts. We hope to see the two stars collaborate again and come up with a Punjabi Single, but until then we only wish the best to both the superstars.
