Within a week of its release, Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff’s film ‘War’ has crossed the 200 crores mark. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film has turned out to be a massive crowd puller and it looks set to become of the biggest movies of 2019.
In just seven days of its release, the film has entered the iconic 200 crore club. Having released on a national holiday (2 October) the film crossed the 100 crore barrier in just 4 days, and it required just three more days to double its collection at the Box Office.
With a gross collection of around 27 crores, the film also became the highest-grossing movie of the year on any Tuesday. Besides this, the film is all but set to embark on a record-breaking spree. After collecting 200 crores in just 7 days, the film has ranked third in the list of highest-grossing films in one week’s time, trailing only 2016 film ‘Sultan’ and Prabhas’ epic film Bahubali: The Conclusion.
The movie took over this latest record from Sanju, which had earned 200.08 crores in one week, while Tiger and Hrithik’s film has collected approx 206 crores so far. It ranks only behind Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Kabir Khan’ and Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Uri: The Surgical Striker’ in terms of collections. As per some film analysts, the movie could even go on to become the highest-grossing film of 2019.
Produced by Yash Raj Films, the film depicts the story of a special forces agent Kabir (Hrithik Roshan) who eventually goes Rogue. He is then ordered to be chased down by Khalid (Tiger Shroff) who is the mentee of Kabir. Things get interesting when Vaani Kapoor enters the fray.
The film received mixed reviews from critics who felt the movie had a predictable storyline. However, the action sequences and the ultimate face-off of two of Bollywood’s handsome hunks, Tiger and Hrithik has managed to propel the film to major success.
