The documentary ‘Creators for Change’ recently won the Daytime Emmy Award that is available on YouTube. The YouTube Originals documentary features Prajakta Koli, Thembe Mahlaba and Liza Koshy in talks with Michelle Obama, the former First Lady of the USA. Prajakta Koli, one of India’s renowned YouTubers, was surprised when she heard that she won the award for her documentary. Prajakta thanked Michelle Obama for giving her the opportunity to express views and opinions on a global platform.
Prajakta said in a statement that “I am going to take some time to process this. But so grateful for having to wake up to find out that our ‘Creators For Change documentary’ won a Daytime Emmy. So much love to YouTube for constantly giving creators like me a global platform to have effective conversations”. The Youtuber expressed her gratitude to Michelle Obama for giving her the chance to be a part of the wonderful project and sent her wishes to Liza and Thembe by posting a photo on her Instagram handle.
The documentary shared the stories of grown-up girls in India, Vietnam and Namibia overcoming the obstacles to pursue their education. The documentary’s concept won the creator’s award for Outstanding Daytime Non-Fiction Special.
Prajakta Koli’s ‘MostlySane’ was launched in 2015 and she often uploads worth watching content. She made her Netflix debut in the series ‘Mismatched’ last year, along with Rohit Saraf. She will be next seen in a Bollywood film ‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’ co-starring Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani.
