South African fast bowler Dale Steyn may be on his way to join Royal Challengers Bangalore for 2019 season. That is according to the recent speculation surrounding Steyn who posted a picture of his Indian Visa on Instagram recently. Steyn, who previously played for RCB from 2008 to 2010 shared a picture of his passport with valid Indian Visa and wrote, “Ahhh, what’s this little surprise.”
Since that incident, Twitter has flooded with speculation linking Steyn to RCB who are in dire need of inspiration. The Virat Kohli led outfit have lost all of their games in the IPL so far, and as a consequence sit rock bottom in the points tally. RCB’s bowling department has to take part of that blame, with pacers like Umesh Yadav, Tim Southee, Colin de Grandhomme and Marcus Stoinis failing to inspire their team to victory.

RCB’s slump could get better with the addition of Steyn, who is one of the most feared pace bowlers in the world. Some fans even believe Dale could trade place with Australian bowler Nathan Coulter-Nile who has not started a single game for the Bengaluru based franchise.
While it’s tough to say that the addition of a certain 35-year-old may change the fortunes of the team overnight, but Steyn is a hardworking athlete, and RCB could use all the firepower right now to salvage all that’s left of this season. Having experienced such a horrendous start to their campaign, Kohli’s men have achieved an unwanted feat.

RCB suffered a sixth straight loss on Sunday, making them only the second team to have started an IPL campaign in such torrid fashion since Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in 2013. RCB, who are yet to win an IPL title, ended the last two IPL seasons in sixth and eighth spot. As for Steyn, it remains to be seen which outfit he will line-up for in the coming days.
