Last year it was not just the Pandemic that was the worse thing that happened, but also many actors left us with a void that can never be filled. Last year, Indian cinema lost many gems and one of them was Irrfan Khan. On Wednesday 29 April 2020 India was shaking with the news of the sudden demise of Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan for his heavenly abode. He was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour in 2018 and was getting treatment from London. But one person who stayed like a wall in between his tough time one person that stayed in between was his wife Sutapa Sikdar. A star wife who was rarely seen in public, came to the fore as the duo fought the bravest battle of them all. As National School of Drama sweethearts, they remained each other’s biggest support system.
It’s going to be about a year since legend Irrfan Khan left us. In conversation with Times of India, his wife Sutapa shared some insight about how Irrfan was planning to work with his son Babil. She said that the late actor was looking for a script for his son. Sutapa revealed that Irrfan was planning things including a film with his son and hence, his demise came as a shock. She revealed what Irrfan said about working with Babil. Sutapa said,” ‘If Babil only wants to do films then this film will change many things. I (Irrfan) want to do this film with him. I would like to act or direct.’ He was not prepared; he was planning things for his son’s career and then suddenly.” She revealed that the film was about a coach who trains some specially-abled children for a football tournament and how they win.
Irrfan was last seen in Angrezi Medium which also starred Kareena Kapoor Khan and Radhika Madan in the lead role.
