Shahid Kapoor’s brother Ishaan Khatter made his Bollywood debut this year with the film titled ‘Beyond the Clouds’. It wasn’t a big budget film and so, it did was not a blockbuster at the box office too. However, it gained positive reviews from fans as well as critics. And now, his 2nd film ‘Dhadak’ is one of the biggest film of the year. Reason? Well, it is produced under Karan Johar’s banner and it is a dream of several stars. The film is being heavily promoted across India.
Though, both Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter seem to be doing great work as we have seen in promos, people aren’t very satisfied. The reason is that the film is the Hindi remake of hit Marathi film ‘Sairat’. People are drawing comparisons between both and obviously, Sairat is their eternal love. Though the famous track ‘Zingaat’ garnered record-breaking views on YouTube, people started comparing it with the Marathi version.
Actor Ishaan Khatter speaks on the comparisons between both films. In an interview, he said, “Comparisons are already on. I think in a way, Dhadak is a tribute to Sairat. We did not make this film with the intention of making a better film than Sairat or even as good as that. We never intended to compete with Sairat. Our idea is to take the story forward and make it accessible to a larger audience and interpret it in our own way.”
He further said, “I am beginning to understand the way industry works but for me, it’s most important to maintain the momentum of positive energy, and get better with each film vis-à-vis my job and craft. I don’t discriminate between films. What’s most important is that I keep growing as an actor. It’s important to not get caught up in a rat race that you start losing your sense of self. So, I am just focused on building myself as a person.”
The film is directed by Shashank Khaitan and will hit the screens on 20th July.
