Javed Akhtar stands against Kangana Ranaut for her misleading statements, moves to Bombay High Court for favorable order

Lyricist and Writer Javed Akhtar has filed an intervention application before Bombay high court against actor Kangana Ranaut. According to a Hindustan Times report, writer Javed Akhtar has intervened against the petition filed by Kangana with accusations that the actress misleads the court and got an assurance from the Passport Authority of India for expediting her passport renewal application. Reports say that the application will be heard by the court next week. 

According to reports, Javed Akhtar’s application stated that when High Court asked Kangana Ranaut before her passport renewal that if any criminal proceedings were pending against her before any court. She mentioned that two criminal proceedings were against her including the alleged sedition and copyright violation case but she did not mention the defamation case filed by the writer against the actress which is pending before the magistrate court.

Javed Akhtar had filed this intervention application on 1st July under the guidance of advocate Jay Bharadwaj stating about the defamation case filed against Kangana Ranaut in November 2020 for making defamatory, false and malicious statements against him in a television interview. Now the magistrate has ordered the police to investigate the complaints made by Javed Akhtar.

Although, the intervention applications also states that a bailable warrant was issued against Kangana on March 1 and she received the bail on March 25 but the case is still pending in court.
