As per the latest news, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has regained his mislaid title as the globe’s wealthiest personality after knocking down Tesla chief Elon Musk from the first position spot.
This news has been showcased on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index ranking.
Tesla’s shares dropped around 2.4% in Tuesday’s trading session, February 16, and this resulted in a loss of $4.6 billion from Musk’s wealth. In the meantime, Bezos, who remained strong and topped the list for over three years until last month, reclaimed his top rank with a net fortune of $191.2 billion, or $955 million more than Tesla’s chief executive officer (CEO).
Bezos returned as the globe’s wealthiest personality with a net worth of $191.2 billion. During the last month, Musk turned out to be the globe’s wealthiest personality, as his net worth hit $185 billion after Tesla’s share price augmented. He took the top position from Bezos, who had held the top spot since 2017.
Tesla has witnessed a surge in value in 2021, and hit a market price of $700 billion in January 2021, making the electric car manufacturer worth over Toyota, Volkswagen, Hyundai, GM, and Ford combined.
Musk’s net worth increased by more than $150 billion and Tesla’s share price surged a massive 743 per cent in the year 2020.
Tesla last week announced it has made an investment of $1.5 billion in the Bitcoin cryptocurrency. The declaration resulted in a surge in the value of one Bitcoin, which has even exceeded $50,000 per coin.
Tesla stated that it will also “begin accepting Bitcoin as a form of payment for our products in the near future.”
After supporting Bitcoin, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has currently stated that if major Dogecoin cryptocurrency owners sell their coins, he will back them fully.
