The second episode of Game of Thrones season eight came out yesterday. The episode was an interesting watch, Lannister Brothers reunited and the people in the Westeros are preparing for the final fight. But what was more interesting was  Podrick Payne sang with his friends a rendition of “Jenny of Oldstones,” which is a popular folk tune in Westeros. At the end of the episode the song was played again but this it was a cover performed by Florence + The Machine. Nothing in Game of Thrones happens without a reason. There has to be a reason for it.

The  “Jenny of Oldstones” makes the perfect sense in this episode because it is a song that has a connection to a Targaryen who is forced to choose between love and duty. In the first episode, we see that Jon Snow knows about his true identity and that he is the true heir to the throne and that he is Aegon Targaryen. Now Jon Snow has to choose between his duty and love. He has two choices either speak up the truth and claim the throne and rule or be faithful to Dany and be quiet. Many in the north are not appreciating Danny and her army it would be a great help if the King takes over the throne but Jon loves Dany which makes it even more difficult for him to tell the truth.

The next episodes of the series are going to be more interesting and maybe a little more reunions of the characters. The people of the Westeros are preparing for the final battle and everyone stands in unity against the Whitewalkers but the question is, Will Jon Snow take over the throne and lead the battle? Will Danaerys give up the throne for the true heir and be a part of this battle or will she disagrees on giving up on the throne? We are so excited to find out!
