‘Pathan’ is the comeback film of Shah Rukh Khan and is directed by Siddharth Anand. According to Bollywood Hungama, John Abraham will portray the role as a freelance terrorist in the long awaited action packed espionage thriller, that is a part of YRF Spy Universe that began with Tiger franchise.

As per the Bollywood Hungama, a trade source has revealed to them that “John plays the role of someone who works for money. He doesn’t have a nationality; he is ruthless with his only religion being money. It’s more like a freelance undercover terrorist. In Pathan, he works for the Russian mafia, who are running a covert gun racket in India”. Eventually, the character of John Abraham will indulge in a battle royale with Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan, who are on the mission to bust the racket.

In contrast to the usual norm of terrorists being conservative, John Abraham’s character is on the cooler side as a man on a mission of disguise. In Pathan, he appears in a very lean look who can be seen in many chase sequences and in hand to hand action with Shah Rukh Khan. The filmmakers considered different looks for John’s character including the bulky avatar but they finalized to proceed with the lean appearance for both John and SRK. The actor has reduced some muscles during the last few months.

The movie also features Salman Khan who plays an extended cameo as Tiger. ‘Pathan’ is announced to be released during the weekend of Eid 2022.
