Satyameva Jayate, the Bollywood film released on Independence Day starring John Abraham, Manoj Bajpayee, and Aisha Sharma in the lead roles has earned Rs. Rs 28.44 crores till date. After the film raked a good sum on its opening day, its collection dropped on the second day. On the other hand, Akshay Kumar’s Gold opened at its best and total earned. Rs. 43 crore. This clash is called as the biggest clash of the year 2018.
Taran Adarsh revealed the collection on his social media and wrote, “#SatyamevaJayate saw a big dip on Day 2… Expected to show an upward trend today [Day 3]… Single screens/mass belt remains strong… Wed 20.52 cr, Thu 7.92 cr. Total: ₹ 28.44 cr. India biz.”
As per the well-known film critics, “Satyameva Jayate’s cornerstone is the corruption that’s eating up the police department of the country. From bribery to fake gallantry medals, the film talks about all. It hits right at the point when it refers to the Khaki colour as the new colour of fear and bias and didn’t shy away from raising fingers at the existent flaws in our system. The film packs many punches like ‘Gareeb insaan kachre ki tarah hote hain aur kachre ko insaaf nahi milta.’, ‘note badle neeyat nahi’ lampooning the fraudulent ways of the police. The eternal chase between Veer and Shivansh keep you at the edge of your seat. The film is full of anger and frustration and you will feel the same while watching it. It’s not a happy film for even fraction of a second, and so, it’s the utmost real.”
Satyameva Jayate is helmed by Milap Milan Zaveri and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani and Nikhil Advani under T-Series and Emmy Entertainment. Well, the makers have big hope from weekends to create some magic on the box office numbers.
