The journey in the Bollywood world is tougher than toughest for a non-filmy background person. The 30-year-old Raazi star, Vicky Kaushal, who was academically an engineer made his way successful through movies like Masaan, Raazi, and Sanju. The talent cannot be hidden, it will come up anyhow, and Vicky is the live example and inspiration to them who follow their dreams and passion with full hearts.
The actor was into movies and thus went assisted Anurag Kashyap in the crime drama Gangs of Wasseypur (2012) and went on to play minor roles in two of his productions. Through his talent and hard work, he got the first leading role in the independent drama Masaan in the year 2015 which made his way to the IIFA and Screen Awards for Best Male Debut.
The Raazi actor spoke about his journey in a candid interview with, ‘Humans of Bombay’ and said, “During college, I decided to interview for an IT job just for the thrill of it. I wanted to experience the ‘nervousness’ — wearing a tie and waiting for someone to give your resumé to. I already knew that I wasn’t ever going to choose that profession, even when I got the offer letter. My dad’s an action director and despite his hope that ‘Kaushal Parivar ka Chirag’ is going to get a job with a secure pay and a 9-5 schedule — I announced that I wanted to become an actor. But, I’d never known struggle like my father had.”
When he shared his parents about his passion for acting, his dad told him to be sure, and then he decided to tear down the job offer letter and went on pursuing his dream, on that note the actor said, “My first one was bad. It was for a small role in a big film and I realized how far from everything I was. On my way home, I was like ‘Vicky, ab toh tune job letter bhi phaad diya”
To say the least, rest is the history.
