Kangana Ranaut, who was at odds with the Shiv Sena’s Uddhav Thackeray-led Maharashtra government, has welcomed Eknath Shinde, the new chief minister of Maharashtra. The actor praised him for his remarkable rise from auto-rickshaw driver to Maharashtra’s chief minister.
On Thursday, Kangana shared a photo of Eknath Shinde on her Instagram Stories, writing, “What an inspiring success story… From driving an auto-rickshaw for a living to becoming of the most important and powerful people in the country… congratulations sir.“
Kangana had a falling out with the Uddhav Thackeray government in recent years, and she criticized him on many times on her social media sites. Kangana recently responded to Uddhav’s resignation as chief minister with a video on her Instagram. In the video, she says, “In 2020, I had said that democracy is a belief system. And those who destroy this belief system because of greed for power are doomed. Their arrogance will be demolished. This shows a person’s character.”
During the latest political chaos in Maharashtra, an old video of her blasting Uddhav for demolishing her new office went viral. She stated in the video, “Uddhav Thackeray, what do you think? That you have taken revenge against me by demolishing my house in cahoots with film mafias? Today my house has been demolished, tomorrow your pride will be decimated. This is all about time. Remember.”
Following the emergence of a political crisis in the state, Uddhav Thackeray resigned as chief minister. The Bharatiya Janata Party was designated the new ruling party in Maharashtra, and Eknath Shinde was selected as the new Chief Minister. Kangana has been a strong BJP supporter.
Kangana will next be seen in Tejas, where she will play an Indian Air Force officer. The film will be released later this year. She is now working on her first play, Emergency. She will be featured in the film as Indira Gandhi.
