The queen of Bollywood Miss Ranaut has revealed that The Dirty Picture was first offered to her which she turned down and eventually the character fell in the court of Vidya Balan, who nailed the Silk character as a protagonist. Later on, for which she also bagged National Award
However, Thalaivi actress lives with regret, she is all praise for Vidya Balan who did the film. She even credits Vidya for revolutionising markets when it comes to filmmakers backing woman-oriented films these days. Kangana who is playing the lead role in films including, Queen, Rajjo, Revolver Rani, says, “I think filmmakers and scriptwriters have always had such films in mind, but Vidya has to a great extent helped them gain confidence to make them as well, knowing that these films can work in the market. And I am glad that filmmakers are increasingly treading the path and trying to be different in terms of content.”
Speaking to a leading daily about whether she regrets turning any film down, Kangana said, “Not really. But I think The Dirty Picture, just like I always said, turned out to be so wonderful! But I don’t think I would have done it better than Vidya Balan because she was terrific in that. But yes, sometimes I feel that I didn’t see the potential in that film.”
On the work front, she will be next seen in Thalaivi.
