Kangana Ranaut has sparked outrage after allegedly referring to the farmers’ protest as the Khalistani movement on social media. The actress has previously been questioned by the Delhi Assembly’s Committee on Peace and Harmony after an FIR was filed in Mumbai over her comments. The actress has been summoned to testify before the committee led by AAP politician Raghav Chadha on December 6, according to ANI.

Here is the tweet by ANI:

Kangana said in a contentious Instagram post, “Khalistani terrorists may be arm twisting the government today. But let’s not forget one woman. The only woman prime minister ne inn ko apni jooti ke niche crush kia tha …. Lekin desh ke tukde nahi hone diye .. even after decades of her death aaj bhi uske naam se kaampte hai yeh inko vaisa he guru chahiye…

Amarjit Singh Sandhu, a member of the Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara Committee, (SGSSGC) filed an FIR against her shortly after. The actress was arrested and charged under Section 295-A of the Indian Penal Code (deliberate and intentional conduct intended to offend the emotions of any class by insulting its religion or its beliefs) (IPC). Kangana is “promoting sectarian animosity and targeting one community (Sikhs) in particular, denigrating protesting farmers and liberation fighters,” according to the complainant.
